
Jamie Scherr

Jamie Scherr is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group with experience drafting and prosecuting hundreds of patents across a wide range of industries. She provides strategic guidance on patent strategy, clearance, patentability, validity, and infringement, and has worked in-house, at large national firms, and boutique IP practices. This wide breadth of experience gives her a well-rounded perspective on legal and business considerations in IP.
Ms. Scherr has a strong passion for design patents and regularly helps clients grow and protect their design portfolios. She counsels clients on leveraging design strategies and staying informed on the evolving design patent landscape.
As in-house counsel at Kids2, Inc., Ms. Scherr managed and expanded the global patent portfolio, focusing on mechanical and business method innovations in the children’s product space. She worked closely with product development and sales teams to mitigate infringement risks and also advised on trademarks, trade dress, trade secrets, copyrights, and anti-counterfeiting efforts.
Ms. Scherr earned her J.D. with Honors from Emory University School of Law. She also attended Texas Tech University School of Law, where she earned a CALI Award, and contributed to the Texas Tech Law Review and Texas Bank Lawyer. She holds a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University, a background that brings a unique analytical lens to her legal practice.
Ms. Scherr is an active member of several professional organizations, including CPTCLA (Board Member), Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, ChIPS, Mensa, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the ABA. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, golfing, skiing, and snowboarding, and she values her Christian faith as a guiding influence in her life.
